Armenia has presented the logo and motto of CBD COP17

The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia has presented the logo and motto of CBD COP17, which will take place next year in Yerevan. The Yerevan Blue Butterfly, incorporating the colors of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework targets, will unite the conservation community under the motto “Taking Action for Nature.” As the Global Review of the GBF is a core component of the upcoming COP, the butterfly symbol can highlight how sensitive global efforts to conserve biodiversity are and underline the urgent need for action to help the butterfly emerge from its cocoon, while emphasizing concrete steps toward implementing the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework through 2030. Currently, only about 30% of NBSAPs have been submitted by member countries, which highlights need to accelerate and strengthen our joint efforts to address global challenges at the national level.
