Armenia joins Fungal Conservation Pledge

I am very pleased to see that, ahead of CBD COP17 in Yerevan, Armenia has joined the Fungal Conservation Pledge, initiated by the Governments of the United Kingdom and Chile during COP16 in Cali. This achievement is our long and dedicated effort in close collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Fungi Foundation. By committing to this pledge, Armenia demonstrates leadership in recognizing fungi as a fundamental component of biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and climate resilience. Although fungi have long been underrepresented in international conservation policy, the time has come for biodiversity conservation to fully integrate funga together with flora and fauna.
